All Skipper and Mariner campers and their families are invited to Hip Hop Night at camp in the Hockey Rink from 6:30 – 8:30 pm for a DJ Dance Party under the stars. Skipper-friendly music from 6:30-7:00 pm, Top 40 Hits from 7-8:30 pm. Come celebrate the end of summer with your friends and family!
Skipper Scoop
It’s hard to believe we have completed our last full week of camp! This week was Trip Week at the RIVA. Kindergarteners visited Once Upon a Sundae in RVC, where they played and ate yummy ice cream sundaes. Younger Skippers got in on the action, too, when the Fun Bus arrived on Monday morning. The big green bus, filled with gymnastics equipment, provided a new space to play and bounce with friends, and the Skippers loved riding the slide out of the bus at the end of their playtime. Today, we all celebrated the end of Summer 2016 with an awesome puppet show! Monday brings our campers-only Kindergarten Graduation, as our oldest Skippers prepare to enter the Mariner Division and on Tuesday, we gather to say “See you next summer” with a magic show and Wishing Well ceremonies. We are so proud of all our Skippers, and we aren’t ready to say goodbye.

Mariner Messages
The Mariners arrived at the RIVA Monday morning ready for Trip Week! Each group headed out one day during the week for play and exploration. First Graders bounced around at Fun Station on Monday, Second Graders had a blast swinging and jumping at Bouncers & Slydos on Tuesday, Fourth Graders celebrated with “Pete’s Dragon” at the movie theater and an ice cream party at Pip’s on Wednesday, and Third Graders made exciting discoveries at the Queens Hall of Science on Thursday. Congratulations to B3 & G5, who clinched the top spot in the final Double or Nothing Crazy 8s this morning to earn 125 pts and tie for the win! We gathered this afternoon for Summer Fun during our last Special Event Friday by participating in a great interactive game show in the Hockey Rink. As we prepare for the final two days of camp, I want to say a heart-felt Thank You to all our incredible staff and parents for providing your campers with so much support and a terrific summer!
Tonight, we gather to dance the night away under the stars at Hip Hop Night in the Hockey Rink. It’s sure to be a fantastic event for all our Mariners and their families.

Navigator Notes
Congratulations to the Navigators who performed in Monday night’s The Lion King! They were all terrific! This week, we went to Splish Splash and had a blast. On Wednesday, 8th graders had fun at Hot Skates and the 6th & 7th Grade boys went to Tennis. We also had Intramural Playoffs. Congratulations to Team #9 Ghana Get Sum and Team #7 Kenya Beat Us for making it to Monday’s Finals! This week was sooo sad but really fun because it’s the last week of camp. We enjoyed Camp 2016 and we’re coming back for more!

CIT FYI
Trip Week was an awesome week for the CITs at Rolling River! On Tuesday, we had a blast on the water rides at Splish Splash. On Wednesday, the CITs were treated to a fun-filled day at Dave & Busters, where we played games and won prizes, and afterwards, we were treated to lunch! We had a great time at the CIT after-camp pool party, too! We can’t believe we are down to our last days of camp!!
