The 2015 Voyage is off to an amazing start in the Skipper Division! We are so proud of our littlest campers. Their smiles and laughter are contagious. The groups are already into their routines and enjoying the many different activities camp has to offer.
Kindergarten Boys started Intramurals this week by splitting into teams and playing different sports. We are so proud of their team spirit and developing athletic skills!
Wednesday brought a visit from Dr. Jolie, a child psychologist who practices in Rockville Centre. Dr. Jolie and the Skippers talked about how to be a good friend and how to share with the help of some fun puppets.
Today we celebrated Independence Day with a special visit from Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty. It was really exciting to see them, pose for pictures with them, and answer their silly trivia questions for prizes! We kicked off the holiday weekend by dancing with the Bossy Frog Band. The Skippers looked so patriotic in red, white and blue and we learned that we are celebrating America’s birthday!
This has been an unbelievable first week of camp and we can’t wait for next week – SPIRIT WEEK!!! Don’t forget: this coming Monday is “Monday in Mexico”! Send your campers in ready for a fiesta. Please make sure everything is labeled and remember to apply sunscreen to your campers in the morning!
Happy Fourth of July!
“Sea” you on Monday,

Mariner Messages
The Mariners had an absolutely phenomenal first week! I want to give a HUGE thank you to all the Mariner counselors for doing an amazing job and giving the campers the best first week of camp ever! Intramurals got off to a terrific start out on the field, in the hockey rink, and on the basketball courts. Our Intramurals theme this summer is “states.” We also climbed the new Seascape playground, explored at Nature, made waves in the pool, and so much more!
We wowed the camp with our patriotic spirit today for Red, White, and Blue Day! We wore America’s colors and got creative with headbands, face paint, and American flag decorations. We got to meet Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty and show off our smarts by answering American history trivia questions. We also met some amazing creatures during a special exotic animal show.
We are anxiously awaiting SPIRIT WEEK! Monday kicks things off with Monday in Mexico. Please label ALL items, and come ready for a fiesta! Mariner spirit at camp can’t be beat!
Wishing everyone a happy Independence Day weekend,
Fran

Navigator Notes
Navigators got camp rolling with a terrific first week! We reunited with old friends, made new buddies, and took our first off-campus trips to the Country Fair and the bowling alley. The Navigators really showed their team spirit as Intramurals got underway, with campers splitting up into teams and showing off their athletic prowess during intense games on the field, in the rink, and on the basketball court. Summer 2015 is shaping up to be the best yet!
We are looking forward to upcoming trips, including Splish Splash on Tuesday, Hot Skates on Wednesday, and a day by the sea in Long Beach on Thursday.
Don’t forget: Next week brings SPIRIT WEEK to camp, starting with Monday in Mexico! Get ready for a fiesta. Don’t forget to label all clothes and apply sunscreen each morning.
I hope everyone has a terrific Fourth of July weekend!

CIT FYI
We are so proud of our CITs! They really stepped up to the plate this week, helping campers adjust to new routines and showing them the ropes, as well as supporting the other counselors in their groups. We know that Summer 2015 will be an amazing one for our CITs!
The CITs had a terrific time at Project Adventure, their first off-campus trip of the season. During this team-building activity, CITs worked together to accomplish physically-challenging outdoor tasks. They really showed off their communication and cooperation skills!
The CIT knockout competition was the talk of the town this week.Congratulations to our big winners, Grace and Tyler – awesome job!
We are looking forward to kicking off SPIRIT WEEK with Monday in Mexico as well as our trip to Splish Splash on Tuesday. This trip is an early drop-off/late pick-up trip. More info to come on Monday.
Have a wonderful holiday weekend!
