Ahoy Maties! Climb aboard our nautically-themed playground called “The Seascape”. This two-level, riverside, enclosed playscape is reminiscent of a ship and features multiple slides, rings, climbers and a fun-filled activity center. Marine animal displays such as a Sealion family, orca whale and iguana add to the nautical, interactive fun.
Campers can practice their best putting skills at our newly renovated 9 hole, miniature golf course. Each hole features a different nautical or beach themed obstacle in front of a mini golf mural. Our riverside course is also shaded by a large, 20 foot umbrella.
The “Ocean Motion” pavilion features an 800 square foot riverside deck with a padded floor under a shady tent. Ocean Motion houses dance and movement programs as well as martial arts.
The brand new “Isabelle Goodman Memorial Stadium” features a state-of-the-art turf field used to play baseball, softball, kickball and wiffle ball. The complex includes two shaded dugouts and multiple bleachers for shaded spectator seating.
Our Field Complex includes one turf field and one natural grass field. Tented stadium seating is located adjacent to the turf field for added shade. The fields are used for soccer, lacrosse, European handball, football and more. The Field Complex is located riverside to give campers a cooler setting on hot summer days.
Rolling River is the only day camp in Nassau County that can give your child a boating program comparable to that of a sleep away camp. The “Rolling River Marina” sits along scenic Mill River. The Marina houses our fleet of rowboats, canoes, bicycle boats, kayaks, peddles boats, 18 foot motorboat and 25 foot pontoon boat. Campers in 3rd grade or older may also participate in banana boating or our interactive floats.
Sink your toes into the sand and get ready to dive for the ball at our popular “Beach Volleyball Court”. Campers and staff may play newcomb and/or volleyball during their athletics period. Beach Volleyball is also a popular sport played with parents and family during Visiting Nights!
Fisherman’s Field is a scaled down, turf field for both younger and older campers. At this brand new field, campers play lead up or modified softball games, kickball, wiffle ball or our popular “mini softball” game.
Our youngest campers visit “River Country” multiple times per week for interactive music, movement and literacy programs. River Country is a multi-use, air-conditioned, riverside facility that is adorned with past group plaques on the walls. River Country houses Hidden Treasures, Puppetry and Mind & Movement classes.
Our general Arts & Crafts facility houses space for two simultaneous programs- Skipper Arts & Crafts and Upper Arts & Crats. This air conditioned facility is located in Specialty Cove. Campers participate in a variety of general arts and crafts projects overseen by adult Specialty Staff.
From smokestacks to portholes to a variety of slides, campers will find numerous areas to explore, climb, run and play at the Sandbar Playground. Sand playground is geared to our youngest campers with lower elements and activities. The multi-level Sand Playground features musical instruments, slides, ropes, tunnels, a tire swing and more! Our interactive, Rainforest-themed sprinkler park is also housed at the Sandbar.
Boxball is located adjacent to the Basketball Facility. The 4 boxball courts designed for our 1st – 10th graders.
“Tumbling Tides” is an 1,800 square foot, indoor gymnastic and tumbling facility featuring programs for campers 3 to 10 years old. Campers rotate through stations using equipment such as parallel bars, trampolines, balance beam, a variety of multi-dimensional mats for Ninja Warrior Jr. obstacle courses and much more. Campers also participate in weekly Yoga classes. A professional sound system adds to the fun with kid-friendly music.
Our “Basketball Complex” features three lighted, newly-surfaced, basketball courts with 6 adjustable baskets including fiberglass boards designed for each of our divisions. Skippers (3 – 5 year olds) learn new skills on age-appropriate adjustable lowered hoops on a smaller court with scaled down markings, Mariners (1st – 4 grade) play on a larger mid-size court, while Navigators (5 – 8 grade) play on a regulation size court.
It’s party time all year round in our “Multi-Porpoise Party Room”. This air-conditioned and heated 2,800 square foot multi-purpose room is used for camp programs, events and private parties. During the summer, the facility houses our unique “Fitness Fun” program, which includes 10 interactive gaming stations on flat screen TVs and other activities such as fuseball, air hockey, giant games and virtual reality. Throughout the off-season, the space hosts weekly events with a professional DJ sound system as well as interactive disco lights around the dance floor. This room also includes 2 private bathrooms.
The Rolling River Pool Complex offers 3 state of the art, heated pools. The main pool depth is 3-6 feet, the vinyl pool is a constant depth of 3-4 feet and our brand new junior pool is perfect for beginners with a depth of 1-2 feet. The pool complex is fully enclosed with separate entrances for each division. Changing cabanas, locker rooms, and benches line the pools so campers can easily access the pool after changing. The complex also features 3 conveniently located restrooms.
Air-conditioned facility which houses over 18 computers and age-appropriate computer games, X-Boxes, Game Cube and X-Box 360 on large flat screen TVs. Our brand-new STEAM room provides opportunities for campers to rotate through interactive stations in which they build and experiment using a variety of tools such as gears, magna-tiles, K’nex and much more.
An extension of Arts & Crafts, Loading Dock is one of the most popular areas in camp where children of all ages can learn various stitches with lanyard, beading, friendship bracelets and more. Situated riverside and located under a tent with a large fan for a cooler setting.
Rolling River’s three story, fully air-conditioned 12,000 square foot Main Building is used for a variety of functions. The Pilot House is the meeting point for our Nursery and PreK campers, with 6 beautiful classrooms that include cubbies, changing rooms and toys as well as boys and girls bathrooms, The lower level houses our Dining Program, with a professional kitchen and serving stations. The adjacent indoor cafeteria has multiple lunch and 2 individual bathrooms. The upper level includes the Camp Offices and the Staff Lounge.
Air-conditioned 2,400 square foot facility with state of the art sound, technology and video systems. All theatrical productions, large group special events and shows are staged in theater. This multi-use site with a sleepaway camp feel is lined by Color War plaques and group plaques. The Theater also includes
3,500 sq. ft. tented hockey rink and all-weather facility. This huge multi-purpose venue is used during AM/PM divisional meetings, athletic games, rainy days, roller skating, full camp special activities and as a shady space away from the sun. The facility also features a surround-sound speaker and audio system for dance parties and general music.
1,800 square foot indoor gymnastic and tumbling facility featuring programs for campers 3 to 10 years old. Equipment such as rope climbing, cargo net, parallel bars, springboard, rings, and a variety of multi-dimensional mats are included in area. Tumbling Tides also houses our interactive yoga program.
Multi-group, air-conditioned Arts and Crafts facilities in Specialty Cove. Adult-supervised crafts projects for regular scheduled activities and hobbies.
Our Health Center is conveniently located in the center of camp. This state-of-the-art facility is equipped to handle everything from basic first aid to the comprehensive maintenance of chronic illnesses supervised by a Nurse Practitioner, RN and three other nursing professionals at all times. Travel nurses also escort campers on all grade levels and divisional trips that are off-campus.
Newly constructed, riverside space that is fully-tented and used to play one of camp’s most popular games… Gaga. Whether extra sunny or a rainy day, this area is busy all summer long.
Located in Specialty Cove, Rolling River’s Nature Program is home to a variety of animals including hamsters, lizards and more! Our animals live in in the Coral Reef log cabin and all activities take place on the shady patio. The Nature Program also features lessons about science, marine life and more.
Full kitchen and outdoor tented area where creative cooking activities for all age groups take place, as well as distribution of afternoon snacks. Located outside under multiple tents with many crisscross fans insures a well-ventilated area.
Rolling River has built the most innovative playgrounds you will ever see…all with the inspiration of our nautical theme. Pebble playground includes creative and challenging activities totally unique to Rolling River. Pebble Beach is made up of two playgrounds connected by our infamous “blue tunnel”. Three levels of activity overlook scenic Mill River.
One of three original log cabins in Specialty Cove, Pottery Pier features tents and covered areas for shade or rainy day activities. This facility includes a beautiful wraparound riverside deck under shady large trees so campers can relax while creating ceramic and pottery projects.
Located on a shady tree-lined site, a scaled down, multi-use grass field for our youngest campers is utilized for athletic skill building. Athletic staff sets up age-appropriate obstacle courses, multiple soccer goals, tee-balls, parachutes and beanbag activities and a large variety of other early elementary activities. Skipper Field is shaded by an innovative tent for extra sun protection.
2,000 square foot tented area where lunch and morning and afternoon snack takes place on group assigned picnic tables. Multiple large fans insure comfortable setting while dining. “Music while you eat” is a common occurrence piped in by speakers under the tent.
One of three original log cabins in Specialty Cove, Hammerhead Haven features tents and covered areas for shade or rainy day activities. Campers receive instruction in creating custom woodworking projects during their regular schedule or hobby period. This facility includes a beautiful wraparound riverside deck under shady large trees.
How high can you build? Campers of all ages let their imaginations soar to new heights at Barnacle Blocks. Hundreds of multi-colored, large Lego blocks allow campers to build castles, forts, and more.
