2022 Special Events Guide
- Friday, July 1- Red, White & Blue Day- Dress in your most patriotic red, white and blue outfit. Get ready to meet Uncle Sam and Lady Liberty to answer USA trivia questions.
- Wednesday, July 6 – Picture Day- Wear a clean, un-altered Rolling River shirt.
- Friday, July 8- Magic Day- Magic is taking over the camp with a special shows from magician Eric Wilzig (grades 1-8) and Magic Al (grades Nursery – Kindergarten). Dress up with your cape, top hat and wand!
- Monday, July 11- Spirit Week Begins! Mismatch Day – Wear mismatched clothes to kick off spirit week!
- Tuesday, July 12- Spirit Week, Tropical Tuesday – Get out your sunglasses, tropical shirts and sunscreen cause we’re feeling that Tropical vibe!
- Wednesday, July 13- Spirit Week, School Pride Day- Show your school spirit and wear your school t-shirt!
- Thursday, July 14- Spirit Week, White and Blue Spirit Day- Wear blue and white to show off your camp spirit!
- Friday, July 15- Song & Plaque Day- Group counselors will send an email home letting campers know what to wear for their Song & Plaque presentation. Each group will perform their group song and present their 2022 plaque.
- Friday, July 22- Pirates of the Caribbean Day- Ahoy Mateys! Pirates have landed upon camp for a fun pirate themed day! Dress up like a pirate or mermaid. Our Skippers (Nursery, Pre K, Kindergarten) will get a tour of a REAL Pirate ship, as well as a fun pirate show. Following that, a treasure hunt at Skipper Sandbar with Jake from Jake and the Neverland Pirates. Our Younger Mariners (1st Grade) will get a tour of a REAL Pirate ship as well as a show! Our Older Mariners (Grades 2-4) will attend a Pirate Mystery show, followed by a treasure hunt at Pebble Playground hosted by Jack Sparrow! The Navigators will also attend the Pirate Mystery show and then “walk the plank” at Boating!
- Tuesday, July 26- WOW Event for Grades Nursery to 2nd- Special facepainting show (no dress up)
- Friday, July 29- It’s Carnival Day! Campers wear bathing suits, make sure to have flip flops or swim shoes at camp. The entire camp will be transformed into Carnival grounds complete with inflatable slides, rides and additional activities.
- Friday, August 5- Nickelodeon Day – Who’s ready to get messy and slimed? It’s Nickelodeon Day at camp! Wear your favorite Nick clothing. Our Skippers and Younger Mariners (Nursery – 2nd Grade) will participate in the Nick Jr. Experience, including Nick themed bounce houses, a slime bar, and a Blue’s Clues adventure. Our Older Mariners and Navigators (3rd – 8th grade) will participate in a custom Double Dare, complete with an obstacle course. Everyone will get a DJ Dance Party in the famous Foam Pit!
- Friday, August 12- Popstar Day – Bring out the red carpet everyone- we are celebrating our 30th Anniversary with an incredible throwback to the ’90s for Popstar Day at the RIVA! Dress in your best pop star gear and don’t hold back! Our day will kick off with a Sirius XM Radio Broadcast. Our Skippers and Younger Mariners (Nursery – 2nd Grade) will get a music show from the incredible Bobby Doowah! Our Older Mariners and Navigators (3rd – 8th grade) will be transported to a VIP Backstage Experience featuring an interview lounge, DJ party, glam squad, red carpet, mock recording studio and more. The entire camp will come together for a special pop star concert with guest stars and other surprises.
- Monday, August 15 – Friday, August 19- Color War! Once you know your camper’s team (blue or white), they may dress up each day in their team color or in a costume that represents their team name. We will also have a costume contest featuring the Color War theme that week. The week will culminate with Color War Sing (Kindergarten and up), the much-anticipated ending that features 3 songs per team (cheer, march and alma mater) as well as the presentation of the team banner and plaque.
- Monday, August 22- Surprise Special Event?!? More information to come but NY sports fans should get ready for an exciting day 🙂
- Tuesday, August 23- Last Day of Camp- Wear a Rolling River shirt and bring sharpie markers so campers can sign each other’s shirts with well wishes. Do not wear your special 2022 giveaway shirt that day since we will be signing shirts.
