30 Signs You Belong at Rolling River Day Camp
Let’s face it…you know there are certain habits that prove you really do belong at Rolling River…like the following:
- You constantly spell the word “river” as “riva”
- You’ve taken up the habit of tie dying ALL white t-shirts, not just camp shirts
- You keep a spare pen and pad in the car so you can write lyrics for Color War alma maters to songs on the radio
- You have a collection of quarters from different years ready for the Mystery Trip
- You end your emails with… “sea” you soon
- Teal or better known as “Rolling River Blue” is your favorite color
- You think all turtles are named “Myrtle”
- You practice your Color War victory leap at all swimming pools
- Elio’s is the only pizza you will truly ever enjoy
- Your intramurals champs t-shirt is one of your most prized possessions
- You can start the box stitch at any given moment
- You had a love/hate relationship with falling off the banana boat
- You think Magic Water is the solution for any illness
- Your ultimate goal in life is to win rope burn in less than 3 minutes
- You are incredibly gifted in the sport of pin-ball
- You have taught all your non-camp friends how to play 6,3,1
- You count the days until you can take your annual picture with Uncle Sam
- Getting a Skipper to sign your t-shirt on the last day of camp is similar in your mind to a celebrity autograph
- You absolutely, 100% definitely, don’t throw rocks
- You consider “yum-yums” in the pyramid of essential food groups
- You train during the winter to be a runner for bucket brigade
- You know it’s worth waiting the entire summer for a chipwich
- You sketch unique 3D plaque ideas during class
- Making the front page of the Scuttlebutt is considered celebrity-status among your group of friends
- You have the Cake Boss episode “Camp Carlo’s” saved indefinitely on your DVR
- You can state every Color War winning team starting with the White Rapids (including the generals)
- You throw pennies into your bathtub to practice for penny pickup
- You know not to turn off the DVD Yearbook until the screen has been black for at least 5 minutes
- You roll your hands in the air every time you hear Tina Turner’s “Proud Mary”
