Captain's Log: August 19, 2015

August 19, 2015

Congratulations to White Jedi for winning Color War 2015! We are so proud of BOTH teams for their sportsmanship & enthusiasm last week. Skippers & Mariners danced under the stars with their families in the Hockey Rink for Hip Hop Night & we collected food donations for Island Harvest. We also said THANK YOU to our staff at the annual Staff Party on Saturday night. With delicious food, great music, & dancing, we showed our appreciation for everyone’s hard work. Thanks to Del-Mir Caterers for hosting this fantastic event.      Blue & White reunited for one last awesome week! Intramural Championships dominated the fields and courts. Congratulations to the Alabama Slammers (Navigators), Alaskan Cornhuskers (3/4 boys), Idaho Potatoes (3/4 girls) and Hawaii (2nd grade) for winning the Intramural Championships! Navigators took over on Monday afternoon for “Navigator Takeover Night.” They played, swam, & enjoyed snack with friends & family. This week was TRIP WEEK  & everyone set off on exciting off-campus adventures. The 3 and 4 year-olds even got in on the action when the Fun Bus arrived on Monday. We had many special activities as well, including several dance parties & a visit from the Mr. Softee ice cream truck.      Tomorrow we’ll sign each other’s t-shirts & visit our Wishing Well, where each group will drop in a star & make a wish for the coming school year. We’ll also say “thank you” to our long-time campers with a gift: 5-year campers & staff receive a sweatshirt and 10-year campers & staff receive a personalized Rolling River jacket. Each summer is better than the last, and we can’t wait to see what Summer 2016 has in store. Make sure to visit us throughout the year during our off-season activities like the Annual Fall Festival, Great Date Night,  Holiday Camps, birthday parties, & school events.      Thank you to all our parents and families for making Summer 2015 the best yet! Without your support, we couldn’t give your kids these memories to last a lifetime. Have a terrific school year, and we’ll “sea” you all soon down by the RIVA!      Anchors aweigh & thank you again!
