Division News: Camp 2015 Week 8

Mariner Messages
Remember when the Mariners met that sunny day in June, to experience adventure each and every afternoon.Since then, we’ve played and sang and joked and together we have grown. Whether we have won or lost, good sportsmanship we’ve shown.
And even though the summer’s end waits patiently ahead, We won’t be disappointed, We’ll feel happiness instead.
For the memories we’ve shared will stand the test of time. To all of you I bid farewell and dedicate this rhyme.
Mariners had one last amazing week at camp. Everyone got to travel on an off-campus adventure to places like the Hall of Science, Fun Station, the movies, and Active Kids. Second graders also celebrated with their own dance party this week too.
There are so many people who helped make Summer 2015 the best yet at Rolling River! Lonny Dugger, the Mariner Assistant Supervisor, and Matt & Melanie, the CIT Supervisors, helped plan and implement special events and guide Mariner campers and CITs each day. They did a wonderful job with our campers, and I am so appreciative of their help!
I would also like to thank all the Mariner parents for your support during the summer. We strive to provide a terrific camp experience for your children, where they can try new things, develop new skills, stretch outside their comfort zone, and make new friends. This wouldn’t be possible without your help and support, especially on Parent Visiting Nights and during the Mariner evening shows.
It has truly been wonderful to watch your campers grow and learn over the course of these summer weeks. Thank you for trusting us with your children. I am so proud of them, and I look forward to seeing you all again next year for what is sure to be an incredible Summer 2016!

It has been an absolutely incredible summer here at the RIVA for the Navigators! We traveled far and wide with our friends to try new things and explore new places. Trip highlights include Splish Splash, Luna Park, Madame Tussaud’s, our overnight trip to Hershey & Dorney Parks, Mountain Creek, our mystery trip to Rye Playland and Matilda on Broadway. Navigators were true leaders at camp – their enthusiasm for theme days and special events and their good sportsmanship during Color War and Intramurals proved our oldest campers to be role models for Mariners and Skippers. Congratulations to the Alabama Slammers for winning the Navigator Intramural Championship, and to all our Navigator Intramural teams for their hard work, efforts, and skill during our weekly intramural games!
Navigators also enjoyed relaxing with friends down in Long Beach, hanging out together at the skating rink and movie theater, and our first annual Navigator Takeover Night this past Monday, when they got to take over Rolling River after camp to play sports, swim, and eat snack with friends and family.
I want to thank all the Navigator campers, counselors, and parents for making Summer 2015 a summer to remember. Congratulations to our 8th grade campers on moving up from the Navigator Division and becoming CITs – I know you’ll do a great job. I wish you all a great school year and I’m already looking forward to Summer 2016 down at the RIVA.

This past summer, the CITs had a blast at the RIVA! They enjoyed going on trips like Dave n Busters and Brownstone Adventure Park and everything in between. Playing with their campers and hanging out with their friends, it’s no doubt that the CITs had an unforgettable summer. We hope the CITs have an amazing school year. “Water” they gonna do until they “sea” you “reel” soon?!!
