Division News: Camp 2016 Week 2

July 8, 2016

Skipper Scoop

Each day at camp brings a new adventure for the Skippers! We love trying new activities like boating, rowing in the paddle boats, and riding the tricycles in the Hockey Rink. We loved coming to camp dressed up as our favorite video and board game characters today. While Kindergarteners played along in an interactive camp-wide session of Simon Sez, younger Skippers danced and bopped along to Music with Patrick. Visiting Days begin next week. We can’t wait to welcome our families to camp to show off all the skills we are learning as we play on the fields, playgrounds, at specials like Nature and Arts & Crafts, and especially in the pool. Have a wonderful weekend, Jill Bloom Skipper Supervisor

Mariner Messages

What a fantastic week down by the RIVA! Mariners played several games during morning lineup, including The Price is Right and Crazy Eights. After an intense competition, the boys won the Price is Right 3-2. G10 maintained their commanding lead in Crazy Eights over 2nd place triple-tied B5, B8, and G8. Our new campers feel like old friends, and we are having a blast. Intramurals got off to a great start this week, and we also welcomed Frozen Ropes Garden City to camp to begin a 5 week-long in-camp baseball clinic for our second, third, and fourth grade boys.  Second grade boys can bring their mitts on Mondays, and third and fourth grade boys should bring their mitts on Thursdays. Bringing baseball mitts is completely optional. Campers do not need to bring in any other baseball equipment such as batting gloves. Please make sure any mitts that come to camp are labeled with your camper’s name. We are so excited to welcome all our families when Visiting Nights begin Monday, July 11th at 6:30pm. We look forward to sharing all our new skills and all the fun of being at camp with you! Please see the next week’s itinerary and check your e-mail for more information about Visiting Nights. A big “Thank You!” to all the Mariner staff for the hard work they do in giving our campers the best summer. I look forward to “sea”ing everyone at Visiting Nights for your campers. They are sure to be terrific. Have a great weekend! Fran Oosterom Mariner Supervisor

Navigator Notes

This week we went to Aviator Sports, where we ice skated, played basketball,  and did gymnastics. We also scored strikes at bowling, rode the waves at Long Beach and swung our rackets playing tennis, too. We can’t wait for all the water rides on our trip to Dorney Park next week. We are so excited for Intramurals and our mystery trips next week!

CIT FYI

The CITs had an awesome week! We started by going into the city and visiting the top of the Empire State Building, followed by a great tour of the city. We all love our CIT assignments, and we are having a blast so far. This summer is shaping up to be one of the best ever. We look forward to going to Dorney Park and showing CIT Spirit during Spirit Week!
