Division News: Camp 2016 Week 3

July 15, 2016

Skipper Scoop

The Skippers loved welcoming their families to camp during this week’s Visiting Days! We were thrilled to show off how we swim and play soccer and basketball, and to introduce our new friends. We had a blast dressing up for each day’s special theme as we celebrated Spirit Week and showed our Rolling River pride. Today, we gathered in the Auditorium to celebrate the end of Spirit Week with our annual Song & Plaque Day! We worked really hard to learn our group songs, and we were excited to go on stage to perform for each other and present our group plaques to the camp. Next week, Pre-K groups travel to 5 Star Gymnastics for tumbling fun on Monday, Visiting Days continue next Tuesday and Thursday, and Friday brings the best day of the summer – CARNIVAL!  We can’t believe how quickly time is flying by. We are having so much fun – we don’t want summer to ever end! Have a wonderful weekend, Jill Bloom Skipper Supervisor

Mariner Messages

An amazing third week has rolled by for the Mariners! Monday and Wednesday nights, we welcomed families to camp to give them a little taste of our daily adventures. We splashed in the pool, took to the fields and courts, and ended by performing a special preview of our group songs. We also got to take exciting trips to @Play Amusements, and showed off our camp pride by dressing up for Spirit Week to match each day’s special theme. Congratulations to the boys for winning Jeopardy, scoring 260 points over the girl groups’ 200 points. During an intense round of Crazy 8s, G8 answered all eight questions correctly! They earned a bonus point to tie G10 for first place. Today, we concluded a rousing Spirit Week with a terrific Song & Plaque Day. We loved performing our group songs for each other and presenting our group plaques to the camp. We can’t wait for next week’s trips: 4th graders travel to Adventureland, 1st graders go bowling, some of our Mariners head out for an exciting overnight at Brookwood. In addition, we welcome Mariners to bring their roller skates and safety equipment to the Hockey Rink for optional Roller Skating and we end on Friday with Carnival! It is sure to be an incredible week. Have a great weekend! Fran Oosterom Mariner Supervisor

Navigator Notes

The Navigators this week had a very busy schedule! Our week started with an awesome trip to Dorney Park & Wildwater Kingdom on Tuesday. The mystery trip for 5th and 6th graders was Boomers where we rode go-karts, played in the arcade, and splashed in the water on the bumper boats. The 7th and 8th graders traveled to NYC to go to Ripley’s Believe It or Not. We can’t wait to sing our songs and show our plaques during Song & Plaque Day. Which group will have the best song and plaque? Don’t forget the yummy pizza for today’s lunch!! We can’t wait to see what next week has in store… by Special Navigator Reporters Katie DiLorio and Ava Paternosto G-12 Sea Lions Hot Off the Press…..Song and Plaque Winners: Boys Plaque- B13, Boys Song- B12, Girls Plaque- G14, Girls Song- G13
