Division News: Camp 2016 Week 4
Skipper Scoop
The Skippers had a terrific week down by the RIVA! Nursery and Pre-K groups welcomed their families on Tuesday and Thursday for Visiting Day, and had a blast playing on Skipper Field and showing off their developing skills in the pool. We are learning how to blow bubbles, get our faces wet, kick, swim, and float. Some Skippers showed their families the sign language they are learning in Hidden Treasures, singing songs and signing along with the words, while others climbed and jumped with their families at Tumbling Tides. We are growing by leaps and bounds! A special “Thank You” goes out to all our families for coming to visit us at camp! Also this week, Pre-K groups visited 5 Star Gymnastics to bounce around, and we all had a blast enjoying the rides and bounce houses at the Carnival today. It’s our favorite day of the summer! Next week, the Kindergarteners visit Bounce U and Tuesday brings an exciting Skipper Special Event (“C” is for “Cookie”). On Wednesday, we say goodbye to our Half Season 1 campers – we hope you have a great rest of the summer! We can’t wait to welcome Half Season 2 Skippers for the remainder of the summer on Thursday and see what fun lies in store for us! Mariners had a busy week at camp! From the thrills of Adventureland to on-campus Roller Skating and playing at 5 Star Gymnastics, to the special overnight trip to Camp Brookwood, we are making memories to last a lifetime. We were also excited to welcome back families of our first grade boys and third graders for a fantastic Visiting Night. Our campers really enjoyed playing games like Spotshot basketball, soccer, and Gaga with you and showing off their swimming skills in the pool. First grade boys loved performing their group songs, too. We couldn’t have been more thrilled to cap off our week with an incredible Carnival! Mariners loved all the rides, games, booths, and enjoying cotton candy and delicious ices from the KONA ices truck. Next week, we look forward to visiting Westbury Theater, Active Kids, and 5 Star Gym. Although we are sad to see our Half Season 1 campers go, we also look forward to welcoming Half Season 2 campers at the end of next week – just in time for Friday’s Pajama Party! We loved going to see Aladdin and laughed so much! We had so much fun at Country Fair playing mini-golf and riding the go-karts. Nassau BOCES was really interesting and educational. Carnival Day was a blast. We enjoyed the water slides and working the marriage booth. CITs had an amazing week at camp! We were excited to welcome families for the remaining Visiting Days and Nights so we could show you how much we love playing with the campers and giving them a great summer. We also got to go on some great trips this week. Some CITs traveled into New York City to see Aladdin on Broadway – what a great show! On Thursday, all the CITs returned to NYC to cheer on the NY Liberty during an intense basketball game at Madison Square Garden. We were treated to a delicious pizza lunch after the game. Today, we had a blast at Carnival! The rides and slides were amazing, and we loved watching all the campers’ smiling faces as they enjoyed the day, too! We can’t wait for Monday’s trip to Strikeforce Sports, the After Camp pool party , CIT boating on Tuesday, and our exciting mystery trip next Wednesday. Where will Matt and Melanie take us?!
