It’s hard to believe the first four weeks of camp have come to an end. We are so proud of our Skippers for trying new activities!
On Monday, Kindergarteners had a blast bouncing around with their friends at Bounce U. On Tuesday, we welcomed everyone to the Hockey Rink for a special on-campus event: “C is for Cookie”! Everyone loved coloring in a Cookie Monster mask and listening to Ali and me read and act out a fun cookie story. The best part was the grand finale – we created our own cookie monster cookies with blue frosting, marshmallows, and chocolate chips. Was it more fun decorating them or eating them?! On Wednesday, we waved goodbye to our Half Season 1 friends. We can’t wait to “sea” you all again next summer! Thursday welcomed our Half Season 2 campers as we explored the playgrounds, played with our animal friends at Nature, jumped in the pool, and visited specialties like Arts & Crafts and Puppetry. Today we all came in our pj’s for Pajama Day! We explored the solar system with an incredible light show. Ask us about all the stars and planets we saw!
We can’t wait for next week. Don’t forget – Monday is Picture Day 2 for campers who were absent, Half Season 2 campers, and siblings. Please send anyone taking a photo to camp in a clean white non-altered (no cuts or tie-dye) camp shirt.
Have a wonderful weekend,

We had a wonderful fifth week here at the RIVA! First and second graders worked hard all week to prepare for their shows- they can’t wait to entertain you next week with their performances. See next week’s schedule for more information about show times and costumes.
Second and third graders traveled off-campus for exciting trips this week – second graders took in Beauty & the Beast at Westbury Theatre and third graders played laser tag and other games & climbed the rock wall at Active Kidz. Mariners also got into the competitive spirit during Intramurals this week as they worked on different physical skills on the courts and fields. We all splashed and played in the pool and on the slip n slide, too!
Congratulations to the boys for winning yesterday’s Match Game, beating the girls 3-2. G8 continued their winning streak at Crazy 8s, edging out G10 and earning 50 points to take the lead! Today, we concluded an exciting week with an amazing Pajama Party Day! We enjoyed a Prismatic Laser Show, had a Glow in the Dark dance party, competed in relay races, and crafted pillow cases at Arts & Crafts too.
Next week brings Picture Day 2 for Half Season 2 campers, campers who were absent on Picture Day 1, and siblings. We also can’t wait for next week’s trips: 2nd graders travel to the Long Island Children’s Museum, third and fourth graders head out for an exciting day at the Brooklyn Aquarium and Cyclones game, 1st graders play at Bounce U., and we welcome Mariners to bring their roller skates and safety equipment to the Hockey Rink for optional Roller Skating! It is sure to be a great week.
We wish all our Half Season1 campers a terrific rest of the summer and look forward to “sea”ing you all again soon. We welcome all our Half Season 2 campers to the RIVA with open arms – we are so happy that you’re here!
Have a great weekend!

Navigator Notes
Canadian Bacon, Kenya Beat Us and Czech Yourself are tied for first place in the very heated Navigator Intramurals! We took a break and chilled at Luna Park in Coney Island on Tuesday, followed by the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders going fishing on Thursday while the 5th graders had a blast at Adventureland. We escaped the rain on Friday by heading to the movies to see Ice Age and returned to an awesome pajama dance party and DJ glow-in-the-dark dance party! It was a great week!

CIT FYI
It was another incredible week for the CITs at Rolling River. Starting off the week, we went to Strike Force Sports while Kindergarten CITs went to Bounce U. with their groups and had a blast with the kids! After everyone left camp for the day, the CITs stayed to party. Even though the party ended up getting rained out, we still had an amazing time having a dance party and getting Moe’s for dinner. Tuesday was a hot day but luckily with CIT boating and swim, we stayed cool throughout the day. On Wednesday, we took a trip to the movies to see Ghostbusters and laughed the whole way through. After the movie, we went to PIP’s to get delicious ice cream! By the time Friday came, we were all ready for Pajama Day to end off a terrific week!
Anchors aweigh!
