Skipper Scoop

A huge THANK YOU to all our families and friends for coming to visit us at camp! We had so much fun playing on Skipper Field and in Tumbling Tides with you, and showing you all our new aquatic moves in the pool. This week, we cooled off in the sprinklers at Sand Playground, read Chicka Chicka Boom Boom in Hidden Treasures, and scored goals playing soccer on the field.

Skippers also got ready for Jurassic World day by learning all about fossils in Nature and Skipper Arts & Crafts. We even mixed our own dough and baked our own fossils. We were ferocious dinosaurs today during Jurassic World Friday! We can’t wait to see what fun next week will bring!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Jill Bloom
Skipper Supervisor

Mariner Messages

Mariners had a busy week at camp! From the thrills of Adventureland to on-campus Roller Skating and exploring the Cradle of Aviation, we are making memories to last a lifetime. We were also excited to welcome back families of our first grade boys, second graders, third grade girls, and fourth graders for two amazing Visiting Nights. Our campers really enjoyed playing games like Spotshot basketball, soccer, lacrosse, and Gaga with you and showing off their swimming skills in the pool. First and second graders loved performing their group songs, too. We roared into camp for Jurassic Day today, ready to explore the world of the dinosaurs!

Next week, we look forward to visiting @Play Amusements, Bounce! Trampoline, and 5 Star Gymnastics. Although we are sad to see our Half Season 1 campers go, we also look forward to welcoming Half Season 2 campers at the end of next week – just in time for Friday’s CARNIVAL!

Thank you to all our staff and parents for helping our campers have the time of their lives. Your hard work and support will make this summer the best yet.

Have a great weekend!

Fran & Lonny

Navigator Notes

This week was very fun! On Tuesday, we went fishing while the other Navigators were on the overnight to Philadelphia. A lot of us caught fish. Then on Wednesday, we went bowling. On Thursday, we went to a comedy club and had a lot of fun. We enjoyed watching Jurassic World, learning about fossils, and eating popcorn today. We can’t wait for Carnival!

CIT FYI

This week at RRDC was very exciting for multiple age groups. On Monday, the fourth grade went to Adventureland and had a blast going on rides with their CITs. On Tuesday, the CITs said goodbye to their groups before they set sail on their overnight adventure to Philadelphia for three days. The CITs who didn’t go on the overnight had the chance to participate in CIT soccer, Gaga, basketball and swim every day. On Friday, the CITs were welcomed back to camp with hugs and love from their campers and counselors. All the CITs then came together for cooking and enjoyed RRDC’s famous YUM YUMs. Overall, it was another amazing and fun-packed week for the CITs here at the RIVA. We can’t wait to “sea” what fun and excitement is in store for us the rest of the summer.
