Skipper Scoop

The Skippers really showed their spirit this week at camp! Here are just a few of the awesome things Skippers did this week:

  • We practiced swinging the bat during tee-ball on Skipper Field.
  • We climbed the wall for the first time!
  • We listened to the story Rainbow Fish and made our own fishies at Nature.
  • We learned chords on the ukulele at Music.

Don’t forget to label everything that comes to camp each day. Please make sure to put sunscreen on your campers BEFORE they leave for camp each morning.

We can’t wait to welcome our Kindergarten families to camp next week when Visiting Days begin.

Have a terrific weekend,
Jill Bloom
Skipper Supervisor

Mariner Messages

Who has the best spirit at the RIVA? The Mariners do, of course! Everyone really got into camp spirit by celebrating our wild ‘n’ wacky theme days – especially Luck o’ the Irish Day and Crazy Hair Day! We also love participating in games during Morning Lineup like Family Feud and Crazy 8s. B7 is in the lead in Crazy 8s, but the competition is fierce! 1st graders had a blast bouncing around and jumping high at Bounce U! and we all LOVE splishing and splashing in the pool, too! We rock ‘n’ rolled around the Hockey Rink for our first On-Campus Roller Skating event this past Thursday. Congratulations to all counselors and CITs who were recognized as Big Fish this week. We are so proud of your hard work.

Here’s our Mariner Joke of the Week…

I lost my mood ring yesterday…I don’t know how I feel about it!

We look forward to “sea”ing all of you when Visiting Nights kick off on Monday and sharing our love for camp with you. Please check your e-mail and the Scuttlebutt for Visiting Night information.

Navigator Notes

On Tuesday, the whole Navigator division went to Brownstone Park in Connecticut. We went on ziplines and water slides and we all had a great time. We loved to play on the floats at Brownstone. We went to the beach yesterday, and we had so much fun! We loved spending time with our friends! After the beach, we went to 7-11 to get slurpees because it was free slurpee day.

CIT FYI

During the second week of camp, we had a lot of fun. The CITs went to Brownstone on Tuesday. We had fun on the ziplines and swimming in the lake. On Wednesday, CITs dressed up in green for Luck o’ the Irish Day. On Thursday, CITs showed off their craziest hairstyles for Crazy Hair Day. On Friday, we sang with our groups for Song and Plaque Day. This week was so fun!
