Skipper Scoop

A huge THANK YOU to all our Kindergarten families and friends for coming to visit us at camp! We had so much fun playing on Skipper Field and Martial Arts with you, and showing you all our new moves in the pool. Check out the fun things we did this week:

  • We learned about rhythm and banged the drum at Music.
  • We read Pete the Cat and sorted colors at Hidden Treasures.
  • Nature –We learned all about bunnies and took turns petting a real bunny.

We are having a blast dancing and singing during today’s World of Dance special event! Don’t forget to label everything that comes into camp each week. We are looking forward to “sea”ing our Nursery and Pre-K families when Visiting Days continue next week.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Jill Bloom
Skipper Supervisor

Mariner Messages

Mariners had a busy week at camp! We were all so excited to welcome  families of our second and third graders and our fourth grade girls for two amazing Visiting Nights this week to share our camp spirit! Our campers really enjoyed playing games like Spotshot basketball, soccer, and Gaga with you and showing off their swimming skills in the pool, and performing their group songs, too. Plus, second graders went bowling for the first time this summer, and third and fourth graders climbed the rock wall and played with friends at Active Kidz.  We truly are making memories to last a lifetime!

Here’s our Mariner Joke of the Week…

I was wondering why the baseball was getting bigger and bigger… and then it hit me.

Here’s the trivia question of the week: What sweet treat is described as “chocolate sandwich cookies?” Email me at mariners@rollingriver.com for a chance to win a prize!

We look forward to “sea”ing all of you as Visiting Nights continue on Monday and sharing our love for camp with you. Please check your e-mail and the Scuttlebutt for Visiting Night information.

Navigator Notes

We really enjoyed going to Luna Park and the Coney Island Aquarium. In the aquarium, we got to see lots of sharks and stingrays. At Luna Park, we went on a bunch of rides and bought snacks and drinks. Yesterday, we went to Gulliver’s Gate in New York City. They had miniature cities and buildings across the globe. We liked it because we got to see moving vehicles we got to see each camper received a key that powered the models to do a bunch of different things. There were also a lot of souvenirs like pins and magnets. This week was packed with fun!

CIT FYI

My name is Madison. This is my first year being a CIT with G5. I love going boating with the girls, playing at Pebble Playground with them, and swimming with them. This week, we went boating and had Visiting Night with all the parents, which turned out amazing. As CITs, we went to the Museum of the Moving Image and we had our first After Camp party! It’s been so great and I can’t wait for the rest of the summer!
