Skipper Scoop

This week, the Skippers had a great time! We welcomed our Half Season 2 Skippers on Monday morning – we are so happy to “sea” you all and celebrate the summer with you. Here are a few activities Skippers participated in this week:

  • We made carnival-themed crafts at Skipper Arts & Crafts
  • We read stories about carnivals and practiced carnival games at Hidden Treasures
  • We played Sharks vs. Minnows on Skipper Field
  • We made sea houses and met the blue-tongued skinks at Nature.

Today, we all had so much fun at the Carnival! We loved going on all the rides and bounce houses and playing the games. We enjoyed special cotton candy and frozen yogurt treats, too!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Jill Bloom
Skipper Supervisor

Mariner Messages

It’s hard to believe our fifth week has come to an end! Everyone is having a wonderful time at camp, trying new sports and activities, and making new friends. First graders had a blast at Cup O’ Fun and second graders participated in a special Scavenger Hunt! We played hard during Intramurals as we get ready for the championships! We also enjoyed Boating, especially falling off the banana boat into the river, Arts & Crafts, and of course, cooling off in the pool! Everyone loved today’s Carnival, too.

Here’s our Mariner Joke of the Week…

Cows spend a lot of time on their feet…they have great calves!

Here’s the trivia question of the week: In what Olympic sport does the person with the lowest score win?  Email me at mariners@rollingriver.com for a chance to win a prize!

We are very excited for next week and all the fun to come. One last question we all want to know: WHEN WILL COLOR WAR BREAK?! Only time will tell!

Navigator Notes

On our mystery trip, we went to the National Geographic Museum in the city. It was so fun! We also went to play tennis and then we got to go to Pip’s and had ice cream. On Thursday, we went to Indoor Extreme Sports in Long Island City to play laser tag. They had laser tag with bows and arrows. It was so cool. Today, we have the best day of the summer – CARNIVAL! We love the water rides and eating cotton candy. This week was so fun!

CIT FYI

CITs had a blast at the Yankee game on Wednesday. We also played Scatterball this week and kicked each other’s butts! We tie-dyed shirts at Arts & Crafts, too. We are so excited for Carnival today and next week’s trips to Mountain Creek and King Kong on Broadway!
