Skipper Scoop

This week, the Skippers had a great time participating in lots of different COLOR WAR activities!

  • We played “Clean Up the Garbage” in the Hockey Rink. Blue Marines campers and White Air Force campers threw soft yarn balls to the other team’s side of a dividing wall as fast as they could The team with the least amount of balls at the end won the game.
  • We played Skipper SpotShot basketball, trying to get the basketball in the hoop to earn points for our Color War team.
  • We raced each other in the pool. Our counselors raced too and we loved cheering them on!

Today, we were treated to lots of special activities! Older Skippers had fun splashing during an afternoon pool party. We had a yummy special snack and then watched a show together in the Auditorium. We love camp and we can’t wait to reunite on Monday now that Color War is over. We don’t want camp to end!

Have a wonderful weekend,
Jill Bloom
Skipper Supervisor

Mariner Messages

The Mariner Division clearly showed our spirit and good sportsmanship all week long during so many different Color War activities. From relay races to tug-of-war to Musical Chairs to annual Color War events like Penny Pickup, Rope Burn, Bucket Brigade and today’s Color War SING, Mariners could not be beat! We cheered for each other, worked together, and had a blast! Thank you to all our campers and their families for making this a Color War to remember forever! First and Second Graders were also treated to a special Bowling Trip this week, and 1st Grade girls had a blast bouncing around at 5 Star Gymnastics, too.

We can’t wait to “sea” you all next week when we reunite for our final four days of camp together!

Have a great weekend,
Fran and Lonny

Navigator Notes

The Navigator show was on Monday night. We loved performing for our friends and families. During the day, we had a dress rehearsal and our first Sing practice. On Tuesday, we went to Tennis and Swirls & Twirls. We also had a Color War newcomb tournament. On Wednesday, the Navigators competed in the Apache Relays before heading to Long Beach to swim in the ocean and play in the sand. On Thursday, we competed in Color War activities like Penny Pickup, Bucket Brigade and Rope Burn. We cheered for our teams. This morning, Navigators had tug of war and a special Navigator game show competition. This afternoon is Color War Sing. We can’t wait to see who will win Color War 2019!

CIT FYI

This week in camp was Color War. We participated in multiple Color War activities as CITs and with my group. My campers competed in bowling, soccer, rock climbing, and other camp activities. It’s nice to see how happy they are when they’re competing. On Tuesday, the CITs wen to the Ronald McDonald House, where we baked brownies and decorated cookies for families. We also stopped for lunch at McDonald’s. CITs also enjoyed competing in Capture the Flag, Penny Pickup, and tug-of-war. I know everyone is eager to win, and it will be an interesting end to a fun week.
