Campers had a SPOOKTACULAR time at the RIVA this week! All of our on campus activities were themed around Halloween! On Monday, our Skippers hunted around camp looking for our mascots Myrtle and Ray. In cooking, we made monster themed rice krispies treats using fruit loops and cheerios! In Loading Dock we made broomsticks out of lanyard. In Nature, we made flying bats and got to spend time with our two visiting pets the bearded dragon and a friendly gecko. In Puppetry, we made Monster Puppets and had them come to life in our Puppetry Theatre. STEAM was all decked out for Halloween and we made rainbow explosions! Our Navigators were out and about this week making magic and memories at the Luna Park amusement park down in Coney Island on Tuesday. On Wednesday they went to the city to see a broadway show and on Thursday they were back In the city for a trip to the Harry Potter exhibit. On Thursday they were bouncing around the launch trampoline park. On Monday, our CITS visited ONE World Trade Center and had an after camp party. On Wednesday they were at a Broadway show. On Friday we all dressed up in our favorite Halloween costumes. Lower Camp (Nursery – 2nd Grade) met the Sanderson Sisters, went trick-or-treating, and danced the spookies away at the ultimate Halloween Party. While Upper Camp (3rd Grade – Navigators) fell under they hypnotic spell of Brad Henderson. We can’t wait for our theatre shows and Super Bowl Friday events happening next week! We return on Monday ready to give back to the community with our annual Coin Harvest. Which division will raise THE MOST money and help bring positive “change” for other children?!
