What an exciting week at the RIVA! We didn’t let the rain hold us back. On Monday, we reunited for a great day of crafts, sports, & swimming. The 3rd and 4th graders ventured to Bayville for some mini golfing, arcades and water rides on their first big trip of the summer. On Monday night, we kicked off our Visiting Nights. The 2nd graders – B4, B5, B6, G4 & G5 and the 4th graders – B10, B11, G10, & G11 shared their love of camp with their families. On Tuesday, Navigators went to the city to RISENY where they embarked on a three-part journey that lifted and connected them to New York City’s most famous sites and moments. They flew over the iconic skyline on a soaring ride that suspended campers 30 feet in the air! Our CITs also headed into the city to Escape Virtuality. They went behind the wheel, on the ledge and in the jungle of the most realistic virtual reality games. On Wednesday, we cooled off at camp on in the pool. The 5/6 grade girls went bowling while the 5/6 boys balanced and bounced at Gymnastics. The 7/8th graders went to the LI Sports Complex to play some indoor sports. On Wednesday evening, it was the 1st and 3rd graders’ turn to welcome their families for Visiting Night. Campers swam in the pool and participated in two activities before cooling off with an ice cream treat. Some of our Navigators and CITs headed to their big overnight at Hershey Park (they had the best time!). On Thursday, the Navigators who did not go on the trip went to Monster Mini golf to play an 18 hole glow-in-the dark course. We ended our week on Friday with the Upper Mariner girls went bowling and the Upper Mariner boys went to gymnastics. Next Monday we have one of our favorite days of camp – Carnival! On Wednesday, we say “sea” you soon to our Half Season 1 campers before welcoming our Half Season 2 friends on Thursday morning. Anchors Aweigh!
