Ahoy RRDC Families! We are thrilled to embark on our 31st Voyage at the RIVA! We could not have asked for more perfect weather to kick off the summer. Our first week has been brimming with excitement as the campers and counselors adjusted to their new camp groups. The Skippers are loving getting their feet wet in swim and our Mariners jumped right into playing sports and participating in our arts and science programs. Meanwhile, the Navigators embarked on their first divisional trips to Dave & Busters, Top Golf, and bowling. The CITS had an enriching experience at the Spyscape NYC Museum, delving into Spy Superpowers developed by a Former Head of Training at MI6.
Today, we celebrated our annual “Red, White, & Blue Day” festivities with great enthusiasm. Campers showcased their patriotic spirit in an Uncle Sam & Lady Liberty’s trivia contest, with fantastic prizes to boot. Skippers and 1st grade campers were treated to the “Petra Puppets- Friends of the USA” themed ventriloquist show. The 2nd – 8th graders kicked off the holiday weekend with an interactive “Boom Boom Bingo” show which was a dance party bingo extravaganza!
Looking ahead, we will reunite next Monday with big smiles for Picture Day on July 8. Get ready for Sprit Week too which features Pajama Day, Backwards Day, Olympics Day, and Song and Plaque Day—it’s going to be a blast! Reminder that camp is closed this Thursday and Friday. Fair winds and “sea” you soon- Happy Fourth of July!
