Dear Rolling River Families and Friends,
With the holiday season upon us, we know you are looking forward to spending time with your families. At Rolling River, family is what sets us apart, as we have been owned and operated by the Goodman family since 1993. Rhonda and Mark have shared their passion for summer camp with their three children, Marissa, Alison and Jonathan, all who are activity involved on Rolling River’s leadership team. As Rhonda and Mark continue to impart their knowledge on to the next generations, we are excited to announce that Marissa will be moving into the role of Co-Director as of December 1.
Marissa has been on the Rolling River leadership team since 2010 as a Marketing Manager and is currently an Associate Director. She possesses a strong background in business, graduating Magna Cum Laude from Cornell University’s undergraduate business program and obtained her MBA from Baruch College in Entrepreneurship. Marissa spent several years working in advertising, specializing in event marketing, and sponsorships. Her business experience complements the Goodman family’s background in education.
At Rolling River, Marissa has concentrated on streamlining business operations, developing community relationships and creating a recognizable and relatable brand. She administers our technological platforms, including Campminder and the Rolling River website, as well as all marketing programs and events. Marissa also created The Campmates Program, which sponsors tuition-free camp experiences for children nominated by New Horizon Counseling Center.
As Co-Director, Marissa will work closely with Rhonda, Mark and the entire leadership team to manage day-to-day operations. She will play an active role in camp essentials such as programming, transportation and standards compliance. Marissa will also continue to oversee marketing and recruitment, as well as the prospective family process and parent relations. Rhonda and Mark will still be active in year-round decision-making and will be on-site during the spring and summer months. Marissa will be the go-to leader in the off-season months.
It is an exciting time for our camp family and we look forward to continuing the strong traditions and exemplar programming that is synonymous with one of the best summer camps on Long Island. Your continued and unwavering support humbles us as we prepare for our 25th anniversary season. We are very proud to make this announcement as families everywhere get ready to celebrate this Thanksgiving weekend.
