The Captain's Log: July 31, 2015

July 30, 2015

Ahoy Mateys!      The start of the second half of camp went off without a hitch. On Monday, we welcomed our Half Season 2 campers with smiles and hugs. We are so happy to have everyone join us for a terrific second half of Summer 2015! On Tuesday, the Navigators and CITs traveled to Mountain Creek Water Park  to beat the heat with wild water rides with friends. Back at camp, many Mariners enjoyed Roller Skating in the Hockey Rink. They are really getting the hang of it. We also stayed cool in the pool and on the Slip ‘n’ Slide, while Pre-K campers bounced and tumbled at 5 Star Gymnastics. We smiled bright on Wednesday for Picture Day #2 and 7th & 8th Graders enjoyed a trip to the movies. On Thursday, the Navigators traveled to Citi Field to cheer on the Amazin’ Mets, and the G10 Marlins were treated to a surprise “Spa Day” with pampering and manicures by their thoughtful counselors. On Thursday night, our first graders brought down the house with their vocal stylings at the First Grade Show! Performing top radio hits, the first graders were fantastic. Kudos to all for a terrific show, and thank you to our families for cheering on our youngest Mariners. Camp was a sight to see on Friday, as we all caught the wave of excitement at the BEST CARNIVAL yet, complete with games, tons of water rides, cotton candy, and a visit from the Kona Ices truck!      Next week brings many exciting events, including our eagerly-awaited 2nd and 3rd/4th Grade evening shows, and the (optional) overnight adventure to Club Getaway for older Mariners. It is also Rolling River Gives Back Week and we have many exciting activities planned to show we care, including our annual Coin Harvest. Proceeds from the Coin Harvest will be donated to the Ronald McDonald House in New Hyde Park and the Campmates Program.      Camp 2016  enrollment is officially open!!!!  Click here to see tuition rates and discounts and ENROLL TODAY!
