Sports are a big part of your child’s development and our commitment to athletics is apparent in our programming and facilities. The Athletics program is overseen by Director Mark Goodman, who holds over 35 years of experience in teaching physical education, athletics and health programs. Athletics Supervisor Jon Goodman, who specializes in physical education, health and coaching, leads the diversified program, along with an extensive staff of athletics specialists.
Our daily instructional and recreational programs allow all campers to participate in every sport Rolling River has to offer. This is accomplished with a carefully designed progression of skills and age-appropriate athletic lessons. Campers participate in instructional sports, free play and an interactive, full-summer Intramurals programs (for 1st through 8th grade).
The Athletics Instructional Program for 1st through 8th grade is built around weekly lessons that introduce campers to the fundamental skills of the featured sport. Upper Division campers can also select additional sports instruction through Hobby and Choice periods. Our Nursery through Kindergarten campers participate in the “Building Blocks of Sports” program on Skipper Field, which teaches essential introductory lessons in throwing, catching, kicking, running and other gross motor skills.
Rolling River boasts 5+ acres of high-end, private athletics facilities, including manicured natural grass fields, lighted basketball courts, a covered hockey rink, beach volleyball court, turf wiffle ball field, indoor gymnastics pavilion and more. Sports facilities are appropriately sized based on the age of the camper.
