Skipper Scoop

Who has the MOST SPIRIT at Rolling River Day Camp? THE SKIPPERS!! We loved mugging for the camera on Picture Day, showing our love for all things Disney, wearing wacky socks and arriving in camouflage, too. Today, we sang, danced, and showed off our group plaques during the annual Song & Plaque Day event in the Sea Breeze Auditorium. Wow, what a week!

Don’t forget to ask us about:

  • Playing the Pizza Game & Freeze Dance, shaking maracas, and dancing to music from Trolls and Moana at Ocean Motion.
  • Keeping our balance and practicing our tumbles, jumps, and turns at Tumbling Tides.
  • Learning about light and how it bends with prisms before making our own rainbows at Nature.
  • Making drip flower pots and photo albums (Kindergarten), chalkboards and flower pots (Pre-K), and Treasure Boxes (Nursery) at Skipper Arts & Crafts.

I’m looking forward to seeing you all next week as Visiting Days begin.

Have a wonderful weekend,
Jill Bloom
Skipper Supervisor

Mariner Messages

Our third week at the RIVA has come to an end,
We’re enjoying every minute of camp with our friends.
The Mariners have the MOST SPIRIT, let us tell you.
All week long, our love for camp always shines through.
4th Grade went to Adventureland, and off to Fun Station went 1st Grade
We had a blast playing, and cooled off in the shade.
Competing in Intramurals to be Number One,
We played on the fields, courts, and in the Hockey Rink and had so much fun!
Song and Plaque Day was a special treat.
We always look forward to this annual feat.
We presented our group plaques and sang a group song,
You could tell we had been practicing all week long!
We want to say “THANK YOU” to our incredible moms and dads,
This is the best summer, by far, that we’ve ever had!
The fun continues with Week #4,
We can’t wait to see what Rolling River has in store.
Thanks to all who are part of our Rolling River Family,
We look forward to seeing you again soon – Fran & Lonny.

Navigator Notes

This week, the Navigators had a blast! On Tuesday, we went to Splish Splash and had so much fun on all the water rides, along with spending time with friends and counselors. On Wednesday, we went ice skating, and after we went to Pip’s for ice cream. Thursday, the 6th, 7th, and 8th graders went fishing and yet again, we had such an amazing time. Lastly, on Friday, all the groups practiced and learned songs while the counselors assisted with the dance and worked on the plaque for Song and Plaque Day!

CIT FYI

This week, we went to Splish Splash, the SpongeBob Squarepants musical on Broadway in New York City, and participated in other CIT activities. We also helped our group get ready for the pool. We went to 5 Star and we practiced our song for Song and Plaque Day. We love being CITs!
