This week was SUPER and focused on our theme of Football. In Cooking, we made football fields out of graham crackers and candies. In STEAM, we focused on the importance of wearing a helmet and even made made goalposts, catapults, then measured the distance in hobbies. We also celebrated “RRDC Gives Back” week with our annual Coin Harvest fundraiser. This year, we’re supporting Children of the City and Living Legends Memorabilia. Thanks to all who donated to our Coin Harvest! On Monday our 3/4 Graders went to an open play session at Active Kidz in Syosset. On Monday evening, second graders were shining stars when they performed for their parents in the Auditorium for their Trolls Show. On Tuesday Skippers and Lower Mariners enjoyed the Under the Sea” WOW event while the Navigators and CIT’s enjoyed their time off campus at Splish Splash. On Wednesday, 5th and 6th Grade Girls balanced at Gymnastics while the boys went bowling. Our 7/8 grade campers headed to Bowlero. We said “sea” you soon to our Classic 6 Week campers on Wednesday afternoon-we’ll miss you all! We welcomed the parents and guests of our oldest Mariners on Wednesday night when 3rd & 4th graders performed Sing 2 in the RRDC Sea Breeze Theatre. On Thursday, the 5th graders tumbled & twirled at Gymnastics while 6th, 7th, & 8th graders were treated to lunch and the movie Haunted Mansion off-campus. We welcomed the parents of our oldest Mariners on Thursday night when Navigators performed Beauty and the Beast in the Auditorium. We are extremely proud of our 2nd, 3rd, and 4th Graders, who performed their spectacular Theater Shows this week! Today we are SO excited for all the Super Bowl Friday Special Events!! Who knows what surprises may wait for us next week with Color War during our last full week of camp…
